(k-bl) refers to the art and design
projects generated
by Caroline Robinson and her collaborators. It is
a set of philosophies and values which guide the creative process and drive effective
systems for implementation.
"My goal is to contribute substantially to positive social change and environmental
restoration in Aotearoa New Zealand and internationally, via innovative art and
design practices.
I utilise highly cooperative and collaborative working processes, seeking to engage
all levels of personal, collective, cultural, economic, environmental, and spiritual
well-being.
As we build physical objects, we are also building connections between people.
I am interested in the intimacy artworks can generate by providing a welcoming
space for people to gather, both in the creation and in the finished work.
The creative processes I facilitate include public sculpture, design collaborations,
site specific installations for festivals and events, performance and wearable
arts. I am also involved as a member of multi-disciplinary teams in urban
design projects.
At times Cabal projects involve comprehensive investigation and participation, where
many people are engaged in the creative process. Other times, an individual approach
sees me express in a highly intuitive and more personal way.
Through all of these projects, I aim to create ritual and symbols which remind
us of our affinity to each other and to the earth."
